About Ariike

My mum wore stilettos, beehive wigs and mini iro and buba.  I came of age in jeans and jeans jacket and wide Oxford pants       My grandmother on the other hand was known for her elaborate headgear and had a nickname to boot.My father could dance the twistThese were my influences. Traditional, classic, modern but at all times style.

My love affair with dressmaking started with my mother, a dressmaker and my grandmother a textile trader. I learnt to sew with my mother and made my first full garment at 9 years old. Instead of fashion, I went into Law and practiced for over 20 years in the UK.  The longing for a career in fashion was always present. I did a short course in a Fashion College in London and continued my interest privately.  But after battling 2 cancers, I realised I could no longer wait.  I made a pivotal career change and starter my fashion career in 2019.
